For over 50 years, Briarwood Wine & Spirits has been THE destination in Mississippi for fine wine and spirits.

Founded in 1966 by Mr. Ellis Saik, Briarwood Mart Package Store quickly became an anchor of the then fledgling Northeast Jackson neighborhoods. Mr. Ellis (as he was called) based his business on two simple principles. “Stack it deep, sell it cheap” and “If you don’t take care of your customers, someone else will.” These Principles were passed on to his twin sons Mike and Albert who ran and grew the store in to a landmark of Jackson over the next three decades.

In 2006, husband and wife Nathan and Lesley McHardy jumped at the opportunity to apply their 20+ years of restaurant experience to a business they could call their own. They purchased Briarwood Wine & Spirits from Mike and Albert. Both Nathan and Lesley served as Sommeliers at local fine dining restaurants, and used this knowledge to expand the selection of wines and spirits to appeal to both casual shoppers and discerning collectors alike.

Known for having a friendly and knowledgeable staff, most of whom also come from the restaurant industry, Briarwood Wine & Spirits is fully capable of assisting with wine tastings, dinner pairings, weddings or any special event where wine and spirits are a must. Customer service and selection are paramount at Briarwood Wine & Spirits, Nathan and Lesley welcome the opportunity to show you both.
